RSPCA wildlife centre christmas fair

The RSPCA wildlife centre and cattery in Nantwich is staging three festive fundraising events.

The London Road centre is holding its popular Christmas Fair on Sunday (December 2).

The fun starts at 11am until 3pm, costs just a £1 donation to get in and has a range of fun activities to entertain kids and adults alike.

Children can get creative with a Christmas crafts workshop and even meet Santa Claus himself.

There will also be games to play, home-made refreshments, cakes and mince pies, Christmas stalls to do some present shopping and the popular tombola and raffle stalls.

Lee Stewart, manager at Stapeley Grange, said: “This is our second biggest fundraising event of the year, behind our summer fair, and we are expecting
it to be busy one.

“It will definitely feel very Christmassy and will get people into the festive spirit.

“Our fundraising team have been working so hard to make this our best Christmas fair yet.

“The Cat 107.9FM radio station will also be at the event blasting out some festive tunes to get visitors into the Christmas spirit.

“Last year we had to postpone the fair because of the heavy snow, so we’re pleased that this year no snow has been forecast – so fingers crossed!

“Our fundraising team have been gearing up for this event for months now and we are all really excited. Santa has confirmed his attendance which is exciting for everyone and there will be lots for families to get involved in.

On Wednesday December 5, a Christmas carol evening will be held at the centre from 6pm to 7pm. Entry is free and hot refreshments will be available to buy.

The following evening, on Thursday December 6, a wreath-making workshop will be held in a marquee outside the centre.

The event, from 7pm to 9pm, costs just £30 per person and includes all materials and hot drinks.

All money raised from the event will go towards the running of the wildlife centre and cattery.

More than 6,500 animals are admitted to the centre every year, making it one of the busiest in the country.

The centre has also produced a 2019 calendar to help raise funds.

Each calendar costs £6. If you would like one, email [email protected]
