new buddy bench at audlem st james primary school

A housebuilder has donated a buddy bench to Audlem St James Primary School to help foster friendships outside of the classroom.

The brightly-coloured bench, positioned in the playground, is intended to promote positive mental wellbeing, by giving pupils a place where they can go if they are looking for a companion.

The bench was donated by McCarthy and Stone, who are behind the Lyme Wood Grange Retirement Living development on McKelvey Way in Audlem.

Fiona Brooks, of McCarthy and Stone North West, said: “We are delighted that Audlem St James Primary School are making full use of the buddy bench.

“We understand how important it is for people of any age to feel a sense of belonging and to have a friend they can turn to when they feel the need to talk.

“Loneliness isn’t just something that affects older people – it can affect everyone, whatever their age.

“We hope pupils at Audlem St James Primary School continue to develop long-lasting friendships from the bench.”

Lyme Wood Grange features three one-bedroom and 22 two-bedroom apartments, with prices currently starting from £225,000.
