A 55-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Mill Street, Crewe.
George Stewart, of Downside Close in Ipswich, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at South Cheshire Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday November 4).
His next court appearance is on December 2 at Chester Crown Court.
The incident happened at around 3.15am in the early hours of Saturday November 3 near the junction with Nantwich Road.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, remains in a serious, but stable condition in hospital.
