Crewe Gang Show, performed by South West Cheshire District Scout Council, is one of the oldest running Gang Shows in the world.

The first performance was in 1938 with a cast of 150 Scouts called “Flying High” and was presented in Crewe Town Hall.

The 2020 Crewe Gang Show is set to be something very special this year.

Why? Because on Saturday 2nd May, as part of the Shows’ five performance run, the afternoon Matinee will be a RELAXED performance. We believe that this will be the first ever performance of such in any Gang Show.

So what is a RELAXED performance?

A performance accessible to those with autism, learning disabilities, dementia, or additional sensory needs. In addition young children, toddlers and babies with their family and elderly members would benefit.

During relaxed performance, the audience has the freedom to move about as needed and make a noise.

We work hard to create a family friendly show and our relaxed performance will allow those who may ordinarily struggle to access the theatre to enjoy and experience the show too.

The Cast will bring the same enthusiasm and energy to the stage; however we will reduce the sensory experience for the audience. Lighting and sound effects will be less startling and access to the auditorium before the production will be adjusted slightly too; there will be a relaxed atmosphere for the afternoon and some cast members and members of South West Cheshire District Scouts will be available to meet the audience before the show.

We look forward to welcoming everyone who could benefit from the relaxed performance along with their carers, family and friends.
