thefts - police chase - fraudsters

Stunned Sunday afternoon walkers and cyclists watched a dramatic police car pursuit through villages and country lanes near Nantwich.

Witnesses say they saw several marked and unmarked police vehicles in pursuit of a Seat Leon for up to an hour yesterday (August 16) evening.

The chase began almost 20 miles away in Winsford and was seen through Nantwich, Stapeley, Audlem Road, and through the villages of Hankelow and Hatherton into Audlem.

Families and residents saw the pursuit down Longhill Lane and Windmill Lane as well as a number of other country roads.

One resident on Broad Lane in Stapeley: “We saw up to 15 marked and unmarked police ares going past!”

Another said they saw the pursuit end on Heathfield Road in Audlem.

A fellow resident said: “I counted nine cars in total!

“Passed them at Artle Brook with three un-marked and one marked in pursuit.

“Another two flying up First Dig Lane a few minutes after. Then another BMW Estate went straight on up the A51 towards Bridgemere and another two passed near Cheerbrook Farm.

“I thought it was an exercise because of the amount of cars involved.”

Cheshire Police said that the incident began at around 6.20pm yesterday (Sunday 16 August) when a driver of a car failed to stop for police on Mount Pleasant Drive in Winsford.

“Officers pursued the grey Seat Leon towards Nantwich and Audlem.

“The driver came to a stop near to Longhill Lane and was detained.

“A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

“He remains in police custody for questioning.”

Here’s another who will get a suspended sentence and a ban and they won’t give a dam that they could have killed someone. Laws are too soft no deterrent whatsoever
