Chris Broad, manager of Nantwich Town Ladies first team

Nantwich Town Ladies FC are preparing to play their first ever season in the Cheshire Women’s League.

And manager Chris Broad (pictured) has already recruited well, with players from clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City and neighbours Crewe Alexandra joining the squad.

Chris said: “The Ladies team has a great mixture of youth and league experience.

“I am really excited about being involved with the first ever Nantwich Town Ladies team to play in the Cheshire Women’s League.”

Chris, who has a passion for developing players, has worked in the professional game for teams including Notts County, as well as coaching experience at Middlewich Town and Runcorn Linnets.

Unfortunately, this season the Ladies team missed the deadline for the FA Cup.

But next season they will be giving Nantwich two teams to support in the Preliminary rounds.

Nantwich Town Ladies are also looking to develop a youth system at the club, with the Youth Team to feature in the Cheshire Women’s Youth League.

The Youth Team is made up of players aged 16-18 and it already has some promising talent in the squad capable of stepping up to the first team.

The Catering Butcher (H.H. Jackson Ltd) and The Talbot Pub in Nantwich are sponsoring the team and the club hopes more businesses will come forward.

All player signings going forward will be released on the Nantwich Town Ladies FC social media pages.
