Bosses at a popular Nantwich bar issued a warning today after a customer reported they have tested positive for Coronavirus.
Nakatcha on Welsh Row say a customer has reported that a friend they were out with in the venue on Sunday (August 30) has since tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement on Facebook, the venue said it had not been contacted by track and trace or the NHS.
But it’s believed the individual was already awaiting test results but decided to visit Nakatcha and possibly other venues before receiving the results.
The venue is now closed and undergoing a “deep clean” and will only reopen if staff return with negative result and are symptom free.
“The table/anyone in close contact to this person are aware (because they let us know) and are acting accordingly,” the statement says.
“This customer was inside the venue in the tiki bar (did make use of the smoking area) from around 8/9pm on Sunday 30th August.
“It was believed that they/a partner were waiting for results but decided to visit us and other venues (venues aware) in Nantwich before receiving results anyway.
“We cannot stress enough how important it is that if you are tested, regardless of whether you have symptoms or not that you STAY AT HOME until you get a negative result.
“We put measures in place that were there to protect and this was potentially jeopardised by the acts of one person. This is not a time to be selfish.
“We have received advice from our brewery company and can open once the following steps are taken.
“Due to the measures in place and short exposure from staff we can open after a deep clean and if and when our staff come back negative and symptom free.
“But it’s always best to be safe than sorry. If you want a test visit https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
“Our staff are currently in the process of going for tests/waiting to see if any symptoms develop.
“If they come back negative and staff remain symptom free for 48 hours before opening.
“We will be open on Friday 4th and will take bookings on that day, until then we remain closed for a deep clean.
“We understand there may be some concern among customers in the venue – we are not medical experts so can only advise you to get a test if you feel unwell/or had known close contact with this table.”
The lad that did this is a friend of my cousin who was actually with him on that night. He didn’t tell anybody about it until afterwards. My cousin had to miss 3 days of work waiting for test results because this idiot couldn’t follow a simple rule.
Inconsiderate MORON
Pins shouldn’t be open anyway
Unbelievable how stupid and inconsiderate some people are
