Brine Leas Sixth Form in Nantwich has been closed for the second time in a week after another positive Covid case.
The school said they have been informed of a positive Covid-19 case in one of its Year 13 students.
In a statement, the school said: “We have taken advice from Public Health England and are taking the precautionary measure for all of Years 12 and 13 to stay at home on Thursday (15.10.20).”
It’s the second time in seven days after the Sixth Form was also closed on Thursday October 8.
On that occasion, a Year 12 student had returned a positive Covid result.
As both Years 12 and 13 are in the same bubble, staff took advice to send all students home and then attempted to work out the “close contacts” of the positive case who would need to self isolate.
A number of schools have been impacted by positive Covid tests, with both Willaston Primary and Wistaston Church Lane Academy sending year groups to isolate for 14 days.
Two more students tested positive today. Year 9 & 11 have been sent home.
A two week half term is worth considering.
