Organisers of the popular Crewe Parkrun held in Queens Park say the community event is set to return on June 5.
The weekly get-together for hundreds of people had to be cancelled during the Covid pandemic lockdowns.
Now Parkrun UK has announced its organised events around the country, including in South Cheshire, are returning.
It said events will only take place “should all other steps of the Government’s roadmap fall into line by that date”.
The return is for events in England only. Parkrun is working with local authorities of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales on appropriate dates for a return.
The Crewe team said: “The hosting and participation of the event will rely heavily on the input of its participants, volunteers, run directors and event directors.
“If you have previously taken part in an event, you should have received a questionnaire last week.”
“We are aware many people might still be nervous about attending an event, and that’s okay too.
“We are working together to ensure a COVID safe environment is maintained and everyone can feel as comfortable as possible.”
