Detectives are appealing for witnesses and video footage following an aggravated burglary in Nantwich.

Two men knocked at the door of an address on Newbold Way at around 10pm on Friday March 11.

The homeowner opened the door and the pair forced their way into the property.

The men threatened the victims, a 76-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, and demanded they handed over all of their jewellery and cash.

One of the men went on to search the address and stole further jewellery and a 55” TV.

During the incident, the 76-year-old man was pushed to the floor by one of the men causing him to suffer a serious back injury.

The men left and got into a vehicle, which was parked nearby, driving off in the direction of Nantwich town centre.

Both of the men were described as white, around 5’ 6” and of medium build.

They were both described as Eastern European and were wearing cardigans and trousers.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and saw anything that may aid their investigation to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Victoria Shelton, of Eastern CID, said: “This was a terrifying incident that has understandably left the victim extremely shaken up.

“I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are doing everything we can to trace the people responsible.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we want to hear from anyone who believes they may any information or video footage which may aid our investigation.

“Perhaps you were in the area and saw the offenders, either before they entered the house or as they were fleeing the scene.

“Or maybe you have CCTV or dashcam footage of the men, or believe that you may know who they are.”
