Anavo Group’s newest care home Alexandra Mill will provide much-needed care services to the local Crewe community.
The brand new care home is set to open in Shavington this summer to help make quality care services and facilities more accessible to the local community.
On course to open its doors in August 2023, Alexandra Mill will be the newest care home under the Anavo Group umbrella – a tight-knit, family-run organisation operating across the UK – following the launch of Surbitonian Gardens in summer 2022.
Anavo Group was set up in early 2020 by three founding members, with the aim of providing a different and better care offering.
The name itself derives from the Greek word meaning to ‘ignite’ or ‘spark’, which the group, and all of its care homes, strives to do with its residents – and their loved ones – to ensure their lives are happy, fulfilled, and meaningful.
Not only highly reviewed by residents and their families, Anavo Group has also been recognised within the industry, recently being named a finalist in the Small Residential Care category at the Laing Buisson Awards 2022.

What will Alexandra Mill offer?
Come August, Alexandra Mill will launch with a suite of care services for the elderly, including residential care, general nursing care, respite care, and dementia residential care.
The care home also has plans to offer daycare later down the line to give people the opportunity to get out and about, interact and socialise with like-minded peers, and enjoy the company of others.
Ahead of the opening, staff will also undertake a training and induction period to make sure they feel comfortable and confident in caring and catering for a vast range of resident needs, and are able to provide support and guidance where needed.
What facilities will be available to residents?
Alexandra Mill will boast a wide range of modern and purpose-built facilities on-site, including 72 private bedrooms, all with an ensuite, smart TV, and each fully furnished.
Residents will have 24-hour access to general nursing, residential, or dementia care from the care home’s trained and experienced staff, and full board with an in-house chef and catering team, who will provide a three-course lunch and dinner each day.
Special dietary requirements can also be accommodated.
Communal and dining areas will be based across the ground and first floor, plus a full laundry service and hair salon on-site.
Other amenities include a café, shop, library, games room, club room, audio-visual room, and IT hub.
Not to mention, the comfort and peace of the Anavo Club room. As well as being open to residents, the club will be available to book as a meeting space by members of the local community, such as charities and the parish.
Residents will also enjoy a stimulating programme of activities, entertainment and events, organised and delivered by the home’s dedicated activities coordinator, to make sure residents remain happy, engaged and active.
But that’s not all. Alexandra Mill residents will be able to benefit from chiropodist visits every six weeks as required, physiotherapy assessments*, and weekly one-to-one consultations with a GP thanks to the home’s partnership with a local practice.
Finally, on their birthday or a special anniversary, residents will get free use of the private dining room for themselves and three friends to enjoy a spot of afternoon tea – subject to availability.
Pricing and funding support
Alexandra Mill’s pricing is dependent on your needs; its all-inclusive fee for long-term stays begins from £1,350 per week, subject to assessment, and from £1,450 per week for respite care and short stays of two weeks minimum.
The all-inclusive fee includes a weekly newspaper, a physio consultation, an in-house hairdressing appointment every six weeks, and a podiatrist visit every eight weeks.
You may be eligible for funding support either from your local council or the NHS. Alexandra Mill offers 30% of government-funded places – the team is on hand to speak to you personally about this and other options.
