Nearly 300 Nantwich schoolchildren learnt about the benefits of healthy living when the Life Education mobile classroom rolled into town.

The state-of-the-art classroom visited Pear Tree Primary in Stapeley and St Oswald’s CE primary in Worleston.

It aims to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the benefit of healthy foods like wholemeal bread.

All pupils from both schools enjoyed sessions in the mobile classroom, sponsored by Northwich-based Roberts Bakery.

Alex Abberton, of Life Education, added: “We have regularly visited both schools for several years so it’s great to return to build on the children’s learning and provide continuity for them.

“And of course, they fondly recognise our Life Education Centre mascot Harold the Giraffe, who is great fun!”

Ruth Hadfield, deputy head at Pear Tree, said: “Health and wellbeing are essential to every one of our pupils, now and for the rest of their lives.

“Life Education has been a fantastic resource for our school, combining fun with learning, and our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed their sessions.”

Lindsay Occleston Roberts, a member of the Roberts family, was at Pear Tree to deliver some healthy sandwiches as part of the promotion.

She said: “It’s fantastic to help pupils of Nantwich benefit from a vital resource like Life Education through our sponsorship.

“We look forward to supporting this classroom it as it continues its great work with more schools throughout the region.”
