New booklet on Nantwich’s role in English Civil War is unveiled

A newly published downloadable booklet “Visiting the Nantwich English Civil War Battlefields” is now available from the Nantwich Museum.

The booklet by Keith Lawrence, Director of the Cheshire Civil War Centre at the museum, considers the four battles which took place in the area in 1643 and 1644, and details routes by which the sites can be visited.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity (MCH Charity), part of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, moved their Merry Miles fundraiser online last month due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Talks are ongoing between Cheshire East Council and the government over expanding community Covid-19 testing in the borough.

Professor Rod Thomson, public health consultant for CEC, revealed that the authority has ‘an expression of interest with the Department for Health and Social Care to allow those individuals who have to leave home for work’ more access to community testing.
