A new Leighton Hospital is a step closer after a government joint investment committee approved Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Strategic Outline Case.

It is the first of three business cases the trust must complete before construction on the new hospital can begin.

Cheshire East Council staff are being urged to report all incidents of violence and aggression from members of the public to protect themselves and fellow employees.

There have been 21 reported incidents since April this year – 18 were classed as physical assault, aggressive or threatening behaviour and three related to verbal abuse or offensive language.
