By Jonathan White A Cheshire band which played at the D-Day commemorations in France, will be performing in Nantwich later this year. The Corps of Drums of The Cheshire Constabulary Band played in front of tens of thousands of spectators and millions who watched the D-Day commemorations on TV.
Auctioneer and TV personality Robert Stones has been honoured with the prestigious Dutton Medal at Nantwich Museum. The museum’s board nominate an individual every year for the medal made by Ron Dutton in memory of his parents.
Organisers of this weekend’s Nantwich Town Fete are promising a fun-packed day for all the family. The event, a revival of an old tradition, will sit alongside “SkoolsFest”, which showcases young talent from the town’s schools in singing, dancing, drama and the arts.

The world famous production The Mousetrap is heading to South Cheshire when it plays at Crewe Lyceum from June 9 to 14. The classic show, the longest running in British theatre history, is on its first UK tour to celebrate 60 years.
