An L.S. Lowry painting sold for an amazing £39,000 at art auction in Nantwich. A trade buyer snapped up the iconic “People on a Promenade” felt tip pen and pencil sketch during the two-day sale at Peter Wilson auctioneers on Market Street.

The 18th Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival came to end today (April 21) after a five-day extravaganza. Organisers believe the event has pulled in over 40,000 people to the town centre where 18 venues hosted scores of different live acts.
Roads around Nantwich were gridlocked for much of yesterday as the town’s Jazz Festival swung into its third day. A crash on the M6 motorway in the morning led to a closure between junctions 17 and 18 and thousands of vehicles using surrounding routes.
