A robot will be in Nantwich town square this weekend to recycle thousands of old Christmas cards. The card-chomping robot (pictured) was made by young designers during a workshop at Nantwich Museum.
Residents are urged to attend ths first Stapeley & District parish council meeting of 2012 on Thursday January 5. The meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, will give residents the chance to ask questions or raises concerns about any matters in the parish.
Scores of fans turned up to watch the South Cheshire George Formby Ukulele Society’s Christmas Concert in Wistaston Memorial Hall. The concert in front of 150 people included group, duet and solo ukulele performances.

Dozens of Nantwich families gathered to enjoy Stapeley’s first community Christmas Carol Service at the Cronkinson pub. Nantwich and District Concert Band provided the music as over a hundred people packed in to the pub’s beer garden off Peter de Stapleigh Way.

The snow and freezing overnight temperatures has claimed its first casualty with Nantwich Town cancelling its community coaching sessions. The club took the decision to cancel this morning’s (December 17) sessions on safety grounds.
Nantwich Museum is joining in the Christmas celebrations by staging a Victorian tour of the town. The tour will provide a leisurely and informative walkabout of the town in Victorian times.
The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury hosted a Christmas gymnastics display to show off to parents and spectators some of the centre’s talent. At the display, more than 200 spectators saw Crewe and Nantwich Sports Council committee members present two awards.

Organisers of Nantwich’s Holly Holy Day 2012 have unveiled a host of entertainment for January’s annual celebration. Willaston-based community group The Funky Choir will be one of many acts performing live in the town square to add to the atmosphere of the event.
The Rotary Club of Nantwich Christmas fund-raising float will be out and about bringing joy to youngsters next week. Santa will be visiting Nantwich streets, supermarkets and the town square throughout December, raising money for local charities.
