Horsemanship skills taught by a Nantwich college went under the spotlight in a BBC Countryfile programme today (January 20). Presenter Adam Henson, guest of honour at Reaseheath College’s graduation last term, delivered four of his rare breed Exmoor foals to the college’s Equestrian Centre.
Workers at a Nantwich abattoir have had licences revoked after an undercover film showing treatment of horses being slaughtered. The film, made at the Red Lion abattoir at Broomhall, near Wrenbury, shows images of horses being beaten and neglected.

By Joy Cassidy Not having seen the West End production, I was able to watch Tom Hooper’s version of Les Miserables with no notion as to whether it was faithful adaptation or whether one version was better than the other. I was simply presented with a tragic love story told in epic proportion, beautifully cast and wonderfully gritty.
