READER’S LETTER: A message for new PM Liz Truss
Dear Editor,
My message to new PM, Liz Truss. These are the priorities the PM needs to act on urgently.
1) Freeze energy bills so people can afford to stay warm this winter

‘Tea at The Tower’ guided walks are taking place every month from St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton, near Nantwich.
The walks are at a relaxed pace and routes mainly involve canal towpath and lane walking but may involve stiles.
Chester oozes history – with its Roman walls, amphitheatre, Tudor buildings and cobbled streets.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget such a fine city exists on our doorstep – and to experience all its attractions, it warrants an overnight stay.
Malbank School and Sixth Form in Nantwich has been rated as “Good” overall in the latest Ofsted inspection.
It marks an improvement for the Welsh Row school which was graded as “requires improvement”.
Nantwich Town finally kicked into gear with their first win of the season just 24 hours after first team manager Dave Cooke stepped down.
A goal by former Crewe Alex striker AJ Leitch-Smith earned the Dabbers a huge three points.
A motorcyclist involved in a collision in Crewe died four days after being treated for a broken leg, police said.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and video footage after the crash involving the 20-year-old rider on a blue Lexmoto Crescent motorbike and a silver Ford Fiesta.
A memorial is to be held in honour of Crewe father and son Roger and Bradley Stockton who died during a TT Race on Isle of Man earlier this year.
Roger, 56, and Bradley, 21, were competing as a team in a sidecars race when they crashed at the start of the second lap back in June.

Hundreds of scooter owners flocked to Nantwich for a get-together organised by Dabbers Scooter Club.
The 14th annual ‘Smell The 2 Stroke’ event took place at The Railway Hotel on Pillory Street in Nantwich on Sunday (September 4).
Dave Cooke is leaving his role as first team manager at Nantwich Town, the club confirmed tonight.
In a statement, the club said the decision has been made “mutually by both parties” for the longer-term future of the club.
The UK is very precise and stringent in terms of its legislation that dictates requirements to healthcare institutions for hygiene management.
Along with its regulatory framework, the government and its regulatory bodies demand good governance from these organisations.
RSPCA bosses in Nantwich are urging people to be on their guard after a swan was shot and killed on the River Weaver near Winsford.
The adult female bird was spotted on the river and taken to Stapele Grange wildlife centre where x-rays (pictured) confirmed she had been shot in the head by an air rifle.

South Cheshire Harriers runners took part in the ‘South Cheshire 20’ one loop running race yesterday (September 4).
The race, starting and finishing at Shavington Leisure Centre, took runners on a hilly 20-mile loop of country lanes through villages of Shavington, Weston, Englesea Brook, Betley, Wrinehill, Shraleybrook, Audley, Barthomley, and Weston.

Average speed cameras are to be trialled in parts of Cheshire with a view to parish councils possibly funding them in future to crackdown on speeders.
Three trial sites will be set up across the county in the next few weeks – and in Cheshire East the cameras will be located in Plumley.
