The suspended chief operating officer at Cheshire East Council has quit his job, the authority has confirmed.
Peter Bates was one of three senior officials suspended 16 months ago pending internal investigations.

The British Hen Welfare Trust team in Cheshire is on track to rehome the 1,000th hen of 2019 at their collection event this weekend (April 7).
So far this year, the team has helped send more than 940 hens off to pet homes, and save them from slaughter.
Swansway Jaguar Crewe only opened its doors on April 1 2017.
But the family-owned centre has already scooped a number of awards from Jaguar Land Rover.
