A Reaseheath College manager spoke of his “thrill” at being awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list. Geoff Oakes, who retired last year after working for the Nantwich college for 35 years, received the tribute for services to Further Education.
Firefighters spent hours battling a fire in the roofspace of a Nantwich home. Crews from Nantwich, Audlem and Crewe were called to the incident involving a semi-detached property on Whitchurch Road in Nantwich just after 8.30am today (November 22).
Nantwich has scooped the gold medal in the North West in Bloom 2011 awards. It means Nantwich will go forward to compete in the national awards in the town category early next year.
Members of an Audlem group were among the first to take a tour around Reaseheath College’s new Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant. The plant was built at the Nantwich college to show the opportunities that exist with on-farm AD.
