By Ashley Houghton A poor refereeing decision cost Nantwich Town all three points in a 1-1 draw at Ashton United. Mat Bailey headed in Sean Cooke’s corner to salvage a point after Aaron Burns’ penalty gave United the lead.
Goals from Michael Lennon and Ben Mills earned Nantwich Town their second home victory of the campaign, beating Whitby Town 2-0. The Dabbers dominated from the start, despite keeper Jonathan Brain being called on to make one or two crucial stops.
Nantwich Town were beaten 4-3 for the second consecutive league game in a topsy-turvy encounter at home to Burscough. The Dabbers at one point trailed 4-1, but scored two goals in a minute to give themselves a chance with 20 minutes left.
Nantwich Town will be without top scorer Ben Mills when they travel to face Buxton in the Evo-Stik Premier League tomorrow (September 3). Mills has to sit out due to suspension after his sending off at home to Marine.
