A frustrated Nantwich patient had to make a staggering 520 calls in one day to finally get through to her GP surgery.
The patient, who we agreed to call Sophie, has been registered at Kiltearn Medical Centre in Nantwich for 25 years.
Detectives in Cheshire have warned the public following reports of phone calls purporting to be from the police demanding money and gift cards from residents.
The scam calls use a spoofed phone number associated with Cheshire Constabulary.
Detectives are urging Nantwich and Crewe residents to be vigilant following a spate of hoax calls from scammers claiming to be police officers acting on behalf of HMRC.
Officers have received 12 reports since June 2 of people receiving calls from someone purporting to be from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
