Cheshire East Council and Health and Safety Executive officers are checking up on local businesses to see if they have Covid-secure measures in place ahead of planned reopening.
CEC has vowed to “take immediate action” on businesses which are not managing risk and protecting workers, customers and visitors.

The number of health checks on vulnerable children in Cheshire East Council care within 20 days plummeted last year, it has been revealed.
One of Cheshire East’s key performance indicators for its care of vulnerable children is the proportion of initial health assessment requests made within 20 days for a child when they enter CEC’s care.
One in eight planned food hygiene checks are missed in Cheshire East, according to campaigners.
Today, the Unchecked.uk have warned of a “gaping hole” in the food safety regime, as new figures show 731 overdue food hygiene interventions of rated premises in Cheshire East in 2018/19.
As many as 3,000 households in Nantwich could be scrutinised by Cheshire East Council as part of widespread checks on single person Council Tax discounts.
The authority says it intends to run data checks on households claiming discounts “to find instances where incorrect awards have been made”.
Patients in Crewe and Nantwich can get free checks for potential signs of mouth cancer.
A drop-in session has been organised by community dental teams from East Cheshire NHS Trust.
