Breaking news… A lorry driver was killed when his HGV ploughed off a bridge over a Cheshire motorway and landed on the carriageway. Cheshire Police and other emergency services are at the scene on the M56, which comes three days after Britain’s worst motorway pile-up on the M5.
Early intervention techniques by Cheshire Police are cracking down on anti-social behaviour, members of Cheshire Police Authority have been told. The number of disorder incidents recorded between April and September dropped to under 25,000, compared with more then 30,100 in the same period last year.

Two men, including one from Nantwich, are to be charged with the murder of John Iveson, Cheshire Police revealed. Mr Iveson (pictured) disappeared from his home town Nantwich in January 2007, aged 36, and has never been seen since.

The force’s eForensics department includes the Hi-Tech Crime Unit, which helped to bring two men to justice in the county for using Facebook to incite violence during the recent wave of rioting.
