A new Historic England project has been launched in Nantwich to celebrate and preserve the British Romany community.

The Atchin Tan Heritage Project, Pride of Romany has been awarded £23,000 from Historic England’s 2025 grants programme.

Nantwich War Memorial is now officially a Grade II listed monument.

Historic England has added the memorial, on the town square on High Street, to the list of buildings of ‘Special Architectural or Historic Interest’.

Nantwich War Memorial to be listed, while stone will honour town hero Stanley Boughey

Nantwich War Memorial looks set to be officially ‘listed’ by Historic England as a site of ‘special architectural or historic interest’.

The move to list the memorial in the town square on High Street is part of the Government’s plan for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, which takes place in November 2018.
