Nantwich has a completely different make-up on Cheshire East Council following a shock result with three of its four borough councillors being Labour.
Overall, the council remains in no overall control with 33 Conservative councillors, 31 Labour, 16 Independents and 2 Lib Democrats. Labour made six gains overall, and the Tories three.

Labour has put up 60 candidates for the 82 seats up for election on Cheshire East Council.
The party has run the council jointly with the Independent Group for the past four years, after the Conservatives lost overall control in the 2019 local elections.

No point in building new shops when 44 shops have been vacant for far too long.

Labour run Cheshire East plans to increase parking charges in Crewe by a whopping 10%.
Instead of £1.20 for two hours it will be £1.32. Crewe is the biggest but the most economically and socially deprived town in Cheshire East.

Shockingly, Labour-run Cheshire East are proposing to shut libraries on a Saturday and reduce opening hours on other days.
‘Putting Crewe First’ is totally opposed to this.
Local Labour politicians have criticised Crewe and Nantwich Conservative MP Kieran Mullan for receiving £41,000 in donations in three years.
They claim it shows wealthy donors have “far more influence and access to decision makers” than his constituents.
Wages in Crewe and Nantwich have fallen by 3.5% since Conservatives came to power in 2010, claim the local Labour group.
They say analysis of ONS figures shows the wages in the constituency have fallen by an average of £1,089, resulting in a 3.5% cut.

Labour is putting forward an urgent motion calling on Cheshire East Council to do everything it can to prevent fracking in the borough.
Certain areas are believed to have the geological conditions suitable for hydraulic fracturing process to extract shale gas.

For the second time this year, Cheshire East Independent and Labour Leadership has cancelled the planned full council meeting due to lack of business!
If they listened to their residents and to my Conservative colleagues, they would hear the calls for discussion and debate about so many things.
