More than 170 families in Cheshire East have now offered a place in their homes to Ukrainian refugees.
Latest available figures released by Cheshire East Council – up to May 4 – show the number of residents who applied for the Homes for Ukraine Scheme increased by 33% in a week.

Sixty-two Ukrainian refugees are now living in Cheshire East with residents who have welcomed them into their homes and another 316 have applied for visas.
Cheshire East mayor Cllr Sarah Pochin (pictured) said the council is playing its part in welcoming refugees to the borough.
A number of Ukrainian refugees have now settled in Cheshire East under the Homes for Ukraine scheme, the council has confirmed.
So far, 13 people have now arrived and settled with more set to come.
