Five French college students have arrived in Nantwich to improve their English and to extend their knowledge of the retail trade. They are studying a Baccalaureate de Commerce and have been invited by Sainsbury’s on Middlewich Road to join their staff for five weeks.
These Youngsters in Wistaston made sure their mums were spoilt on Mother’s Day, by designing them posies. The Year 2 children at Wistaston Church Lane School rose to the challenge when they were asked to design and make a special gift for their mothers.
Spring came early to residents of a Nantwich care home after a local supermarket donated over 50 bunches of daffodils. Sainsbury’s Nantwich,on Middlewich Road, donated the yellow flowers to Richmond Village, off London Road.
Wistaston youngsters celebrated Chinese New Year in style when they dressed up and made a huge dragon. The pupils of Wistaston Church Lane Primary School also made their own Chinese decorations and enjoyed a Chinese banquet.

Nantwich and District Band has issued a plea for more members to join the group. The band, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year, needs players for a range of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, organisers say.
