A key bus route between Crewe and Chester via Nantwich is getting a significant boost using government grant funding aimed at improving transport links.
Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding for both Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council has been used to double the frequency of the daytime no 84 service, which connects both places.
A key Sunday bus service connecting Nantwich, Willaston and Crewe is being axed from July.
The loss of the D&G service means the 84 corridor will only have a service every 90 minutes on Sunday with Stagecoach.
The 84 and 84X bus services between Crewe and Nantwich will have a temporary stop this weekend in Crewe as the new bus station prepares to open.
Service 84 and 84X will use the temporary stop on Prince Albert Street in Crewe on Saturday May 4 from 7.20pm until end of service on Monday May 6.
