Cheshire East Council is to continue a scheme which sees family members of pregnant women being paid in vouchers to stop smoking.
In 2022, the council’s adults and health committee approved a financial incentive scheme to help pregnant women quit smoking.

Supermarket and fuel vouchers are to be included in an emergency assistance scheme to support Cheshire East residents struggling to feed families and heat homes.
The scheme was set up by Cheshire East in April 2013 to support vulnerable people facing immediate hardship, following a crisis or disaster, to prevent homelessness, to keep families together and safeguard vulnerable people.
Cheshire East Council bosses say they will distribute more food and energy vouchers to vulnerable children and families ahead of the February half term.
More than 11,000 vouchers have been distributed so far, funded from Cheshire East’s share of the government’s £170 million Covid Winter Grant Scheme launched in December last year.
People angry at local MPs voting against extending free school meals, have taken their protest to Conservative party doors in Crewe and Nantwich.
Dozens of people joined in by leaving messages on toys outside the Conservative office on Churchyardside in Nantwich town centre today (October 25).
Council chiefs say food vouchers are available for families in Crewe and Nantwich struggling to afford to feed their children during the pandemic.
Their pledge comes as the row deepens over MPs rejecting a proposal to extend free school meals until Easter.
