It was a wonderful feeling being part of the Cheshire East Labour/Independent administration on Wednesday 16th December after voting in favour of a 20’s Plenty in 2020 motion to reduce speed limits on Cheshire East roads where people live and work, on housing developments, town and village centres.

£588,000 grant to boost cycling and walking in Cheshire East

Cheshire East Council is to develop new schemes to promote cycling and walking in the borough after being awarded £588,000 by the government.

The grant follows a bid by the council for a second phase of “active travel” funding from Department for Transport.

Council bosses will review plans to scrap school transport and force some Nantwich pupils to walk to school.

Cheshire East had passed a motion to axe free school buses on five routes, including Willaston to Malbank and Brine Leas schools in Nantwich.
