Wistaston ‘Church Lane chasm’ repairs finally underway after two weeks

Work started today on repairing the ‘Church Lane chasm’ sink-hole in Wistaston – more than two weeks after it first appeared.

Cheshire East Council highways teams arrived on scene to begin the repairs after the sink-hole emerged on June 26.

A large hole has appeared in the middle of Church Lane in Wistaston.

Police and highways engineers were called out at a collapsed section of the road, “probably caused by drainage”.
