Network Rail and Air Products with Crewe UTC

Crewe Engineering & Design UTC has signed up Network Rail and Air Products as employer partners.

The new STEM-oriented school, which opens in September 2016, is now partnered with 14 companies including Bentley Motors, Siemens, GE, James Walker, Leoni and Bosch.

Crewe UTC’s employer partners will support students in reaching their potential while generating a skilled workforce of the future.

Brands such as Network Rail and Air Products have developed industry-specific projects that will provide young people with skills and knowledge to enhance their learning.

Network Rail runs, maintains and develops Britain’s rail infrastructure and has a large presence in the Crewe and Nantwich area.

Air Products is committed to developing the next generation of male and female engineers, and inspiring young people to be industry leaders and innovators.

David Terry, Crewe E & D UTC principal, said: “Our partnership with industry leaders provides our students with an outstanding educational experience unlike anything else available in the region.”

James Richards, of Network Rail, added: “With Network Rail at the forefront of major engineering projects in the UK, it’s essential the young people who will become our future engineers are equipped with the skills to undertake such ambitious work.”

Crewe Engineering & Design UTC will open in September this year.

It will offer students a chance of work experience with national and local brands, while gaining GCSEs, A-Levels and Technical Award qualifications.

Applications for September admissions are still open and limited places are still available.

There will be an Open Day at Bentley Showroom in Crewe on May 24, from 5.30 to 7.30pm.
