Motorbikers will be out on South Cheshire’s country roads as part of the second St Luke’s Hospice charity ride this month.
The event will see 12 local motorcycle and scooter clubs coming together to organise a fund-raising event to support the hospice based in Winsford.
Last year five clubs co-operated to gather 200 motorcycles and scooters to raise £1,500.
This year’s March 18 event will involve South Cheshire Motorcycle Club, South Cheshire Crusaders Scooter Club, Northwest Bikers, The Torch Scooter Club, Beartown Bikers, Cheshire Midnight Runners Scooter Club, Kings MCC, Omega Scooter Club, The Edge MCC, Dabbers Scooter Club, Last Wolf MCC and The Greedy Pigs MCC.
They will be staging a 20-mile ride, open to all types of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, who will make a £4 per bike donation to enter.
The ride will leave St Luke’s Hospice at midday, taking a picturesque route through the Cheshire countryside, ending at The Jolly Tar in Wardle, Nantwich. They will be lead by a red London bus.
There will be live bands playing throughout the afternoon and a free draw and auction for items donated by local motorcycle dealers and other businesses, for those with an entry ticket.
Live bands playing at The Jolly Tar include Sonic Tapestry (prog rock), Generation UK (Jam & Who covers etc), and three young indie bands (Interception, Rockwood and Sink or Swim).
Riders will be directed by marshals placed at roundabouts and junctions along the route. All riders will be expected to be road legal and abide by the Highway Code.
