Reaseheath College is gearing up for National Insect Week with a range of family activities.
The events at the Nantwich college aim to raise awareness of British invertebrates and the need to conserve them.
The college zoo will open tonight (Monday June 25) for an evening with ‘Butterflies and Moths’.
Visitors can identify the insects which visit their garden flowers and learn how to make a butterfly feeder to attract them.
On Wednesday it’s the turn of ‘Insect Investigators’ when anyone interested in creepy crawlies can search wildlife stacks, build a bug house and identify insects that have been caught in traps.
Thursday’s event is ‘Spiders, Slugs and Snails’, when visitors can learn more about the life of spiders, why slugs love gardens and why some of Britain’s snails are endangered.
All three events are running between 6pm and 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought on the door and include entry to the zoo, which is open from 5pm until 8pm.
Entry for adults £5, children £4, family £15. For further information see www.reaseheath.ac.uk
