Niall McGregor, captain of Crewe & Nantwich RUFC, who beat Whitchurch

Crewe & Nantwich RUFC are calling on supporters to back them as they travel to face runaway league leaders Warrington.

The Vagrants club, fresh from their Cheshire Bowl triumph over Winnington Park, face the most daunting clash of the season tomorrow (April 10).

They also beat Glossop 34-21 on Saturday as confidence grows for the final few matches of their South Lancs & Cheshire 1 2012-13 campaign.

Captain Niall MacGregor said: “We have learnt so much this season playing strongly and tactically better opposition.

“Winning the Cheshire Bowl showed us we can beat teams in this league in tough games and I believe this will give us the confidence to continue our progress.

“It was a fantastic day for C&N RUFC – players, volunteers and supporters. It was one of the best feelings ever when the final whistle went and we had won.

“It meant so much to the players to win this game as we have narrowly lost games this season which we should have won.”

Tomorrow night’s clash at Warrington kicks off at 6.30pm. Warrington have won all 11 home league matches this season.

This weekend, 10th-placed Crewe & Nantwich are on the road again with a trip to face Hoylake, currently in fifth spot.

They will finish the campaign with a home game against Bowdon on April 20.
