Nantwich Town fans who made the trip over the border witnessed a feast of attacking action as hosts Airbus UK came out on top despite the Dabbers’ four goals.
Carlos Meakin scored a scorcher on four minutes to give Nantwich an early lead.
But his opener was cancelled out when Airbus’ Chris Simm scored a penalty after an Earl Davis handball on 10 minutes.
Airbus’ Steve Jones then put his side in the lead for the first time with a smart run and calm finish past Nantwich’s Chris Cheetham on 20 minutes.
The Dabbers almost equalised immediately with Aaron Burns hitting the bar on 22 minutes.
Then Nantwich’s Mark Jones had the ball in the Airbus net but he was judged offside on 40 minutes.
The fourth goal went to Airbus as Ian Kearney headed down for Simm to flick home making it 3-1 on 43 minutes.
After the break Nantwich maintained the end-to-end theme as Max Harrop won a penalty for the second time in three games so Burns could make it 3-2 on 47 minutes.
An unmarked Steve Jones then doubled his tally on 55 minutes with a header from a corner.
The Dabbers looked back in the game when Thomas Moore made it 4-3 on 62 minutes with a snap-shot after his first effort was blocked.
It was a day to remember for Airbus’ Simm as he sealed his hat-trick on 70 minutes deflecting a Steve Jones shot to make it 5-3.
Zyaac Edwards extended the home side’s lead on 73 minutes tapping in at the back post before Nantwich’s Peter Wright pulled one back with a beautifully curled shot in to the top corner from the edge of the box on 82 minutes to make the final score 6-4.
