Staff and supporters at St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice’s Nantwich Swirly Whirlys cafe celebrated its one year anniversary of trading.
And it had added excitement – with the launch of its new “Room at the Top” vintage boutique.
Scores of St Luke’s supporters and Swirly Whirlys customers packed into the Pillory Street shop for the anniversary celebration.
Over the last 12 months, money from every cup of coffee, crepe and gift item sold went towards vital hospice funds.
The anniversary event itself raised another £800 for St Luke’s.
Swirly Whirlys manager Helen Giordano said: “We were thrilled to welcome so many supporters and volunteers to what was a fantastic celebration of our first year in business and the opening of the fabulous new ‘Room at the Top’ vintage store.
“As the name suggests, the new store is on the top floor of the building and offers a treasure trove of stunning clothing, gifts and furniture.”
Assistant manager Rachel Boulton-Jones added: “We are firm believers the modern charity shop has to continue to evolve and adapt to have a place on the high street and we’re delighted to add this wonderful shop to our existing offer.
“This is the only shop in Crewe and Nantwich where you can directly support St Luke’s so you really can make a difference and help those people who need the care and support that St Luke’s can give.
“You can help local patients receive the care they need, whether that is in our In Care or Day Care units or one of the many therapies carried out at the hospice including Aromatherapy, Reflexology & Hypnotherapy and many more.”
