The star of Channel 4’s Coach Trip Brendan Sheerin is the latest big name signed up for Crewe Lyceum’s panto later this year.

Sheering will play “King Brendan” in Jack and the Beanstalk alongside Strictly Come Dancing and Emmerdale star Lisa Riley.

Veteran travel expert Sheerin became a household name through Channel 4’s runaway hit reality show Coach Trip.

He started his travel career in Costa Brava in the late 70s, before Coach Trip and Celebrity Coach Trip catapulted him to fame, with more than 300 episodes aired since 2005.

His other TV credits include Brendan’s Magical Mystery Tour and Brendan’s Love Cruise.

Brendan has written about his travel adventures in his autobiography titled My Life: A Coach Trip Adventure.

Jonathan Kiley, executive producer of Jack and the Beanstalk, said: “Brendan brings his big personality and infectious humour to the stage.

“We’re delighted he has agreed to be part of our spectacular Crewe production this year.

“With such strong cast already in place this year’s Crewe Lyceum pantomime is going to be a real treat for all the family.”

Jack and the Beanstalk is staged by Qdos Entertainment, who staged last year’s hit pantomime Peter Pan starring Adam Woodyatt.

Gordon Millar, theatre director of the Lyceum, said: “We are thrilled. Brendan’s bubbly charm and playful wit together with Lisa’s wonderful warm Northern humour will certainly provide laughter in abundance.”

Tickets are already on sale for the panto which runs from Saturday December 13 to Sunday January 4.
