Crewe & Nantwich RUFC coach Andy Brown admitted they were beaten by a “better team” after the 1sts crashed to defeat at Leek. The Vagrants side were humbled by the league leaders 29-0. It was only Crewe & Nantwich’s third defeat of the league campaign.

A South Cheshire man who fraudulently claimed more than £1,200 in benefits has been ordered by magistrates to repay the money. David Wainwright, 42, formerly of Shropshire Street, Audlem, pleaded guilty at South and East Cheshire Magistrates’ Court.
