Organisers of the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival have issued a plea for volunteers to help at this year’s event.
The three-day festival, in September, attracts thousands of people to the town.
But since council funding was pulled two years ago, the event is organised purely by local businesses and volunteers.
Volunteers carry out key roles from organising children’s activities, handing out maps and guides, and working behind the scenes to ensure visitors have a great experience and exhibitors return each year.
More members are also invited to join the organising committee to help out throughout the year in planning the event.
Festival committee member Len Carr said: “Festival volunteers come from all backgrounds and ages, and they get together socially on a regular basis to catch up.
“The festival is run entirely by volunteers, who love being part of what makes Nantwich such a vibrant place to live and work.
“If you would like to be part of this vibrant community, working to make the Food Festival such a highlight and Nantwich such a great place to live and work, then please get in touch.
“We’re hoping they will help us make this year;s event the best yet!”
The festival runs from September 5 to 7, and transforms the town into a food lovers’ paradise.
There are two huge marquee food halls filled with treats, wines, beers, cheeses, pies, preserves and more, as well as a variety of street food stalls.
There will be a chef demonstration marquee featuring the best talents of Cheshire with workshops for adults and children.
Restaurants, pubs and businesses will also host their own events from beer festivals to quizzes, kids cooking to tastings, street entertainment and live music.
“There is something for every age, taste and wallet,” added Len.
“And it’s easy to find your way around the festival and enjoy beautiful Nantwich at the same time.”
There will be guides around town and park and ride facilities to ease parking and congestion.
Any interested volunteer helpers can email their details to [email protected] or via the Facebook page.
Entry to the event is free. For more details of this year’s exhibitors, visit www.nantwichfoodfestival.co.uk
