Nantwich Town boss Danny Johnson has swooped to sign former Crewe Alexandra forward and Northern Ireland international Steve Jones.
Jones, 37, gained 29 international caps and also served Burnley and Walsall after stepping up to League football from Leigh RMI.
He joins the Dabbers from Welsh Premier outfit Airbus UK, subject to international clearance.
“I’m thrilled that Steve is joining us,” said Johnson (pictured with Jones).
“Steve has kept himself very fit and still has a huge amount to offer.
“I’m sure our fans will be as excited as I am that he is joining Nantwich Town.”
Jones, who lives locally, joins Nantwich at a time that Johnson is working hard to bolster his squad ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
Mat Bailey, Harry Clayton, Peter Green, Max Harrop, Andy White and Sam Wilson are also among the players that have already put pen to paper for next season.
Bailey will be vice-captain while Mark Jones is set to take over the captain’s armband.
“We’ve got some highly thought of young players and we’ve moved quickly to take up the option on them for another 12 months,” said Johnson, who also hopes to add another new signing to his squad later this week.
“It’s well known that I was very disappointed with how we ended the season,” added the Nantwich boss.
“And it’s my job to ensure we hit the ground running when the new campaign kicks off.
“We’ve got a great nucleus of players and with a few quality additions like Steve Jones, we’ve got every reason to look forward to next season with confidence.”
