Young business brains in Nantwich and Crewe are being urged to enter a new competition – with a £5k prize up for grabs.
The campaign, backed by South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, is targeting 18-25 years olds living in a 10-mile radius of Crewe or Nantwich.
And the hunt for a new Alan Sugar will see the winner scoop a business start-up and mentoring package worth more than £5,000.
Paul Colman, CEO of South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, has backed the idea, as well as local education providers including South Cheshire College, who will host the competition finals.
The overall winner will receive assistance from the mentors to cover the costs associated with company formation, registered office address, accounts, legal advice, insurance, social media, marketing and website, financial advice, Chamber of Commerce membership and more.
Entries are now being accepted, and those who already have a business which is less then 12 months old can also apply.
Jamie Stewart, the inspiration behind the competition, said: “The team we have put together for this competition offers the winner a fantastic opportunity not just to launch their own business but also to tap into the networks and experience of some very success local business leaders.”
Jamie, of Momentum Factor Europe, is one of six judges (pictured) which includes Keith Knight, of Alextra Accountants, Jonathan Aldersley, of Butcher and Barlow LLP, Dave Clapp, of County Insurance, Andrew Watts, of Watts Mortgage and Financial, and Claire McLellan, of CLM Associates.
Entrants should include a short video, 90-seconds maximum, about themselves and why we should choose your idea as the winner. Send this on email to [email protected]
A shortlist will be unveiled on www.southcheshirefirst.co.uk on June 30. These will then pitch their ideas for 10 minutes each on July 1 at South Cheshire College.
Winners will be announced on Friday July 11.
