Crewe Railroaders will be playing in the 12,000-capacity AJ Bell Stadium against Manchester Titans this Sunday (June 1)
The British American Football clash has been moved to the home of the Sale Sharks and Salford Reds to promote the sport.
And it is hoped the game will draw in more than 1,000 spectators, with the Railroaders hoping local fans of the sport will make the trip to back the South Cheshire outfit.
“It’s a great opportunity for the Railroaders to be invited to take part in and the whole day should be a great advert for the sport in this country,” said Lee Johnson, of Crewe Railroaders.
“The sport is growing again in this country and with three sold out NFL games at Wembley this year it shows that it’s the right time to start trying to get interest behind the sport as it bids to move on from grassroots level in the UK.”
The day features a coaching session before the game by former NFL star and now Sky Sports presenter Cecil Martin, who will also commentate on the game.
He will run a “meet and greet” with supporters before carrying out the coin toss duties prior to kick off.
The Railroaders are embarking on their third season in the British American Football League and continue to develop after recently announcing s sponsorship deal with Crewe Audi.
The Railroaders game against the Titans kicks off at 1pm this Sunday. Tickets are £5, under 12s free entry.
