Auctioneer and TV personality Robert Stones has been honoured with the prestigious Dutton Medal at Nantwich Museum.
The museum’s board nominate an individual every year for the medal made by Ron Dutton in memory of his parents.
And this year it went to Mr Stones, who recently stood down from the role of chair of the board after 11 years.
Presenting the medal, company secretary Sarah Hope outlined the extent of his “immense contribution” to the museum and his wider charity work.
At the same event, chair of the board Nick Dyer outlined key achievements of the past 12 months.
He also thanked museum staff, volunteers and members, and the support of local authorities and their grants.
However, he said the Trust remains “concerned about financing” the activities of the museum in the long term.
Mr Dyer also welcomed Phil Taylor who has been co-opted to the board as finance director.
Museum manager Kate Dobson reviewed the progress made during the last year.
Projects of note included the Nantwich Treasure project to improve the efficiency of lighting, which they hope will lead to a heating project.
Its participation in the Green Museums Programme, and work with children and the Dementia Friendship Group were also hailed.
Jean Evans, membership secretary, said a campaign to recruit new members to the trust had been a success.
Nick Dyer and Barry Astbury were elected to the board to serve a term of three years.
The meeting ended with a talk by trustee Brian Cole on the conversion of St Pancras to a modern railway interchange.
