Staff and Residents of Richmond Village Nantwich will welcome the Mayor of Nantwich to open the centre’s new vintage tea-room.
Mayor Cllr Christine Farrall will be present with vice chairman of Crewe & Nantwich Royal British Legion and chairman elect for Cheshire Phil Dean at the opening tomorrow (August 1).
Staff and residents at the Village are marking the start of World War I while celebrating the British Spirit in World War II.
There will be events throughout the month of August, with the tea room being open between 10.30am and 3.30pm each day.
Residents and visitors will experience the sights and sounds of the two wars with staff dressing in outfits from the day and musicians performing all the old favourites.
Food and drink on offer will also reproduce the tastes and flavours of the time.
There will even be a street party to round of the whole month.
The tea room was also displayed during the Nantwich Show yesterday (July 30) and proved a big hit.
Richmond Village advisor Nicola Tooke said: “We are all looking forward to staging a month of activities all themed around the two World Wars.
“Many of our residents will remember the Second World War and some have memories of their family members being in the First World War.
“We are delighted that the Mayor and Mr Dean are able to join us at the opening of the tea-room. I am sure they will enjoy the homemade cake on offer!”
