Cheshire Constabulary Band

The Nantwich and District Branch of the Royal British Legion are hosting a World War 1 centenary commemoration.

The concert, featuring the Band of Cheshire Constabulary, is to be staged in the Nantwich Civic Hall from 7.30pm on October 5 to honour those who died locally and throughout the world.

John Dwyer, President of the Nantwich and District Branch of the RBL, said: “I am proud to be supporting the Band & Drums of Cheshire Constabulary who will be playing for such a good cause.”

Mr Dwyer, who is also Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, added: “The evening promises to be a musical spectacular which will allow us to celebrate and commemorate the First World War.

“The Police Band members are all volunteers and a very important part of the policing family.”

Also playing will be Jedburgh (Royal British Legion Scotland) Pipes and Drums and one of the country’s brightest musical theatre talents, Charlotte Wheatcroft.

They will perform favourites such ‘There You’ll Be’ from Pearl Harbour, ‘Highland Cathedral’, ‘Nimrod’ and ‘Here’s to Heroes’.

The Band of Cheshire Constabulary was formed in 1967 and has performed at prestigious venues, including numerous civil occasions, and Royal events.

They also performed at the D-Day 70th Anniversary in Normandy.

Entry is ticket only with all profits going to The Royal British Legion. Pre-booked tickets are £10 or can be bought at the door for £12.50.

Tickets are available from 01270 747317 or 07866 076926.
