Nantwich MP Edward Timpson is to run the London Marathon to raise funds for Leighton Hospital’s MRI Scanner appeal.
The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families will be tackling the 26-mile challenge on Sunday April 26.
It will be the 11th time he has taken part in the race.
“I’m delighted to be taking to the streets in London in aid of the MRI Scanner Appeal,” said Mr Timpson.
“I’m hoping the people of Crewe and Nantwich will continue supporting the Scanner Appeal and help them raise their £1 million target.”
Successfully funding £1 million for the additional MRI scanner will provide a number of benefits to patients, staff and the trust.
Laura Riddle, charity manager, added: “I’d like to thank Edward and the team for supporting the MRI Scanner Appeal.
“The generosity of the general public towards the appeal so far is fantastic, and we can’t thank the local community enough for the continued support.
“If you already have a place in the event, and are unsure as to which charity to run for, we’d be extremely grateful for your support towards the MRI Scanner Appeal.”
