Nantwich Town chairman Tony Davison has praised the club’s fans after the side’s amazing 2-0 away win at Stockport County in the FA Trophy.
Almost 150 supporters followed the Dabbers up the M6 to Edgeley Park.
And they were treated to a fine display as Phil Parkinson’s men clinched victory over a side one league above Nantwich.
Andy White put them ahead after 80 minutes, and a Liam Shotton penalty in the final minute sealed the win.
Davison said: “Massive praise goes to the 145 Dabbers fans who braved the elements to roar on the team at Stockport.
“On what was a dreadful afternoon weather-wise, our supporters sang from start to finish during the match and cheered the team on throughout the game.
“They were brilliant, a credit to the club and to Nantwich in general.
“It was a tense game to watch, but the team put on a first class display and the Dabbers fans maintained the volume all afternoon.
“The Stockport County officials even commented after the game what a great set of supporters we had.
“It was a great afternoon for Nantwich Town.
“Let’s build on this, get the word out there about what great entertainment we are providing, and continue the push for a good run in both the FA Trophy and the Evo-Stik League.
“A memorable afternoon with surely more to come.”
